Women, Peace and Security Index Launch at Georgetown
Join the Georgetown University launch of the 2023 global Women, Peace and Security Index which scores and ranks 177 countries in terms of women’s status. The WPS Index features new country rankings, deep-dive analysis into political violence targeting women, a spotlight on conflict trends in 2022, and sub-national data for Colombia and Ethiopia. WPS Index manager and lead author Elena Ortiz will present various trends by region, within indicators, and across time, while also exploring how the WPS Index can serve as a critical tool for policymakers, practitioners, and activists alike. The WPS Index is published by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security with support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
