U.S. – Ukraine Reconstruction, Investment, and Innovation Forum
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and Walsh School of Foreign Service will host a hybrid forum, co-organized by the Baratta Center for Global Business and Chemonics International, with a series of timely discussions on supporting post-war reconstruction efforts in Ukraine.
Amid the ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine faces significant challenges that can hinder its economic recovery and post-war reconstruction efforts. While the war has triggered unprecedented policy responses globally, including a surge in financial and development support for Ukraine from the United States, foreign investment and the support of the private sector remain critical for Ukraine’s economic growth as it seeks to rebuild and recover from the devastating impact of the conflict.
The event will feature a keynote address from Stephanie von Friedeburg, managing director at Citi as well as a dialogue with representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Development Finance Corporation (US DFC), and the Ukrainian government. Following the keynote dialogue, there will be two panels, the first centered on Resilience and Reconstruction, and the second focused on Renewal and Reinvention. Following the panels and closing remarks, please join us for a networking luncheon featuring remarks by the former First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yuschenko.
Focusing on how the private sector can contribute to the rebuilding of Ukraine, this event is centered on one of the Baratta Center’s main programmatic themes: Business for Global Good, and will be one of several activities that the Baratta Center will organize around this theme.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
