Josh Ford (SFS’25) is a senior studying regional studies of Asia in the School of Foreign Service and a Georgetown Storyteller. He is also minoring in Chinese and art history. Originally from the United Kingdom, Georgetown’s emphasis on internationalism both inside and outside the classroom made the Hilltop feel like a home away from home!
This Thanksgiving season, we have a lot to be grateful for. As members of the Georgetown University community, we are especially fortunate to have access to extraordinary resources that enrich our lives and help us grow as students and individuals. From amazing faculty who inspire us to think critically to the diverse community that makes the Hilltop a home away from home — our campus is truly something to celebrate.
Whether it’s a quiet moment of study in Lauinger Library, an inspiring lecture in Gaston Hall, or a chance to engage in service through the Center for Social Justice, Georgetown provides endless ways to learn, give back and make a difference.
Personally, I’m grateful for the incredible experiences and opportunities I’ve had on the Hilltop. Whether it’s sharing my love for Georgetown as a Blue and Gray tour guide, dancing with friends in Rangila, or giving back through programs like New Student Orientation and SFS peer advising, each experience has deepened my connection to the Georgetown community. These experiences have not only been fun and fulfilling but have also reminded me how special it is to be part of a campus where we all support and learn from one another. I’m thankful for the friends, mentors and opportunities that make life at Georgetown so meaningful!
This Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to recognize and cherish the remarkable community and resources that make our Georgetown experience so meaningful. Here are some fellow Hoyas reflecting on what they are most thankful for:
Patrick De Meulder (MSB’25)
This Thanksgiving season I am grateful for my own family and the friends who have become like family in my life. When times get challenging, (and there is no doubt that they do,) I find solace in knowing there is a support system out there for me through everything. I find it important to take a step back and be grateful that despite health challenges, hardships and life changes that we can all come together at times like Thanksgiving to appreciate each other’s company and support.
Amrita Sangani (SFS’25)
I’m thankful to my parents and sister for their love, support, and sunshine. I’m grateful to my friends for always making me laugh and bringing joy.
Blain Beyene (C’25)
This Thanksgiving, I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships that keep me fulfilled and motivated to be my best. I am so happy to say I’ve made so many friends here at Georgetown who truly bring out the best in me, and especially going into senior spring, I’m holding on extra tightly to these relationships.
Jack Silverman (SFS’25)
This Thanksgiving, I’m thinking about how grateful I am and lucky I’ve been to have access to the amazing resources at Georgetown. I got to live in Spain and finally study abroad, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. I’m thankful for the opportunity to meet so many interesting people from all over the world both at Georgetown and in my experiences in and around Washington, DC
Elizabeth Packard (C’25)
I am thankful for the friends I have made at Georgetown and for being lucky enough to attend such an impressive University. I am so sad to be graduating in the spring, but I will remain eternally grateful for my Georgetown experience.
Varsha Rammohan (SFS’25)
I’m feeling very grateful for Washington, DC this Thanksgiving. I was abroad in the spring, and being away for a semester led me to appreciate the city so much more than I had before. Exploring DC beyond Georgetown has made my college experience so dynamic and fulfilling, and I feel so lucky that I was able to spend the last four years in this city.
Sarah Sisto (C’25)
I am very thankful for my different communities this Thanksgiving. My family, school, friends and work communities have been immense sources of support this year. They have celebrated the highs and provided comfort in the lows.
