To my son, Chad K. Although conditions in the world took away your chance to walk with your classmates and across a stage to receive your diploma (and me, the chance to applaud and cheer when your name was read) your college experience is not defined by this, but rather by the education, opportunities, achievements (and failures), discoveries, personal growth, and friendships of these past four years. Those things can never be taken from you! Yes, many obstacles have been put in your path, but a path without obstacles probably wouldn’t lead anywhere anyway! I have the upmost faith that you will persevere. I am so proud, so in awe of the amazing man you are and I applaud you every day. Congratulations!
