Dear Colleagues,
Happy New Year! We hope this email finds you well as we enter 2022. We recognize that the current Omicron surge is impacting our community in significant ways, and we want to ensure that you are aware of the University resources available to support your dependent care needs.
GUCares Dependent Care Grants: Grants for child or adult dependent care needs have been extended through June 30, 2022 for faculty and staff who have a qualified need. Please complete the online grant application. Grants of up to $3,000 are available. If you received a grant during the Fall 2021 semester, you may apply for a new grant through June 30.
Bright Horizons Family Care Services: Through our partnership with Bright Horizons, employees have access to dependent care resources that may be accessed at home, as well as other support services, such as jumping ahead on the waitlist at quality child care at a Bright Horizons® center or tuition discounts at partner centers. Georgetown University also provides up to seven (7) days per year of Bright Horizons emergency back-up care for children, adult and elder care at no cost. Additional Bright Horizons support services include Sittercity’s database of sitters, virtual sitting and pet care; a discounted local placement service to find trained, screened nannies; and exclusive discounts on tutoring, test prep and enrichment courses, as well as virtual and in-home learning pods.
We know that this is a challenging time for many and want to remind our community of these resources. In addition, to support your own health and well-being, we encourage you to review the resources available on our Every Hoya Cares website, including the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and Mindset, One Medical’s virtual therapy and coaching program, both of which are available at no cost to faculty and staff. If you have any questions, please contact us at benefitshelp@georgetown.edu.
Wishing you our very best.
Be well,
