Title: Launching the “Hoya Transit Pilot” Program

Dear Students,

We are excited to announce the launch of the “Hoya Transit Pilot” program in conjunction with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), which will begin this fall and will run through the spring 2023 semester. The pilot program is designed to help inform decisions related to sustainable and affordable transportation near the University’s campuses and in the surrounding areas for our students, based on actual ridership data and student feedback.

Undergraduate and graduate students from all campuses may apply for this pilot, and selected students will receive a $100 credit for the semester applied to a SmarTrip account to be used toward transit passes or standard pay-as-you-go transit.

Students who are interested in participating in this pilot program for the fall 2022 semester should complete the fall 2022 participation request form no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, September 12.

Current full-time Georgetown students are eligible to participate in the pilot program. Up to 2,500 participants for the pilot program will be selected through an anonymized random selection process from those who submit a participation request form. Participation in the program for the spring semester will be independent of a student’s participation during the fall semester, and another randomized enrollment selection will be offered for participation in the spring.

You can learn more about the pilot program, its goals and how this data will be monitored and used on the FAQ page.

If you have any questions, please contact hoyatransitpilot@georgetown.edu.

Sincerely,
