A Conversation with French author David Diop
The Department of French and Francophone Studies, with support from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, and Villa Albertine, invites you to join a conversation with David Diop on April 15 at 3pm in ICC 425.
Diop is a celebrated French author who gained widespread acclaim for his 2018 novel Frère d’Âme (At Night All Blood is Black), which won the prestigious Prix Goncourt des Lycéens (2018) and International Booker Prize (2021). His writing delves into themes of colonialism, war, race, identity, mobility, and the human condition. David DIop is on tour to discuss the translation of his latest novel Beyond the Door of No Return, translated by Sam Taylor and published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux.
