Bhussry Seminar Series: “AI Models of Spatial Biology With Applications to Cancer and Aging”
Presentation: “AI Models of Spatial Biology With Applications to Cancer and Aging”
Speaker:
James Zou, PhD
Associate Professor of Biomedical Data Science and, by Courtesy, of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering

Presented via Zoom only.
About This Seminar:
In this talk, I will present a versatile framework leveraging graph neural networks (GNN) to model spatial omics and cellular interactions. This approach will be showcased through two case studies. First, we will identify spatial motifs that predict cancer patients’ response to immunotherapies. Then we will quantify how cell-cell interactions impact biological clocks during brain aging and rejuvenation. I will conclude by discussing the use of generative AI models to create in silico spatial omics data.
