Title & Abstract:
“Further, Faster: Working Together to End Cancer As We Know It”
Dr. Kimryn Rathmell, the 17th director of the National Cancer Institute, will share key moments from her career path, from her work as a physician-scientist specializing in rare kidney cancers, to leading the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University, to now directing the nation’s lead agency for cancer research and training. Her storied career as a medical oncologist and cancer biologist includes forays into advocacy and healthcare management, which inform her approach to leading the NCI and accelerating progress against cancer.
