Finance 101 at Georgetown
Finance 101 introduces employees to financial terminology, systems, and procedures used at Georgetown for Main Campus & US employees.
About This Event:
Finance 101 is a 90 minute course tailored to new employees or seasoned staff members (within Main Campus and University Services) who want to learn the basics pertaining to navigating the world of financial and business processes at Georgetown University. This course provides an introduction to the organizational structure, an overview of how we record financial information and acquire goods and services, as well as a guide to further learning resources at Georgetown University.
Topics Covered Include:
-Financial hierarchy and structure
-Overview of financial systems
-What a worktag is
-How we purchase goods and services
-Main policies to be aware of
-Overview of a good business purpose and approval process
-Resources for recommended next step trainings
-Where to find support and information if you have questions
The first 60 minutes of the course will be a presentation by GU Finance experts, and the last 30 minutes is reserved for Q&A. Registration is open to Georgetown University employees of Main Campus and University Services only and a Georgetown email is required to access the session.
