Securitizing Identity: Populism, Migration, and Border Security
Join the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies for an insightful lecture with Dr. Elia Joey Ayoub, a postdoctoral researcher and writer. Dr. Ayoub will explore the intersections of populism, migration, and the racialization of borders in today’s global security landscape.
Drawing on case studies from the MENA region and beyond, this talk will delve into the ways these issues shape human security, offering critical perspectives on the political and social dynamics that drive securitization efforts worldwide.
This lecture will be in the context of the CCAS class Environmental and Human Security taught by Professor Marwa Daoudy. Dr. Daoudy will moderate the event.
