Title: Alert: Suspicious Activity in Copley Hall

Dear Copley Hall Residents,

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, at approximately 12:06 a.m., GUPD responded to a report of suspicious activity that occurred on the fifth floor of Copley Hall.

Two residents informed a Resident Assistant (RA) that they saw three men acting suspiciously near the fifth floor gender-neutral restroom. They reported that the three subjects were standoffish and evasive. The subjects were described as follows:

  • Blond male, with matching facial hair, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
  • Two males, with dark hair and facial hair, in navy blue/dark shirts and dark pants.

If you see subjects matching this description at Copley Hall, or have information, please call GUPD right away at (202) 687-4343, or notify us on the LiveSafe app. We also encourage students to talk to your Community Liaison Officer (CLO) if you have any information.

For Copley Hall, the CLO is Officer Daronte Harris. Officer Harris can be reached by email at dh1079@georgetown.edu.

GUPD will be increasing patrols in Copley Hall, and we also ask that you play a role in helping to keep yourself, your peers and our campus community safe by following best practices on safety and security. Please pay particular attention to the issue of “tailgating,” where residents knowingly or unknowingly allow unauthorized individuals to pass through GOCard-accessed entrances with them or behind them.

Please contact GUPD at police@georgetown.edu with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jay Gruber
Chief of Police and Associate Vice President for Public Safety
