Title: Celebrating Women’s History Month

Banner has blue background and white text reading, "Georgetown Celebrates Women's History Month."

Georgetown University joins the nation in commemorating Women’s History Month this March, Black Women Appreciation Day on March 1 and International Women’s Day on March 8. We celebrate the many contributions of our women students, faculty and staff to our university community and society at large. Throughout the month of March, we invite you to learn more about women’s history at Georgetown and engage in events and opportunities across campus and in Washington, DC.

Many student-led efforts on campus, which are open to all members of our community, are supported by the Women’s Center.

Georgetown faculty lead a range of departmental and interdisciplinary efforts to advance teaching, scholarship and community on women’s history and issues, including the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, Gender+ Justice Initiative, Institute for Women, Peace and Security (SFS) and Georgetown Women in Medicine (GWIM).

Georgetown students, faculty and employees also support one another through the Georgetown Women’s Alliance (GWA), a volunteer organization that fosters professional development and gender equity, including a mentorship program, student fellowship program, events and more.

Thank you for joining us in this important month-long celebration and recognition, and we hope that you will take some time to explore the landing page and events overview.
