I regularly speak with students about how they are navigating their mental health during the pandemic as a part of my role as staff psychologist at CAPS. I provide support for students’ mental health at Georgetown through individual therapy, groups, outreach and consultation.
I also engage our staff in collective conversations about helper well-being during a mental health crisis in our country.
I have found that in light of the many societal traumas we are navigating, relationships are an important component in my own resiliency. Taking time to connect authentically to my peers and colleagues and have honest caring conversations about how we are and what we need has given me hope and anchored my well-being.
