First Lady of Afghanistan Rula Ghani, right, participated in a conversation with Phyllis Magrab, vice chair of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council (USAWC), at Georgetown May 12.
The wife of President Ashraf Ghaniis an honorary USAWC co-chair along with former U.S. first ladies Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton.
Ghani and Magrab and members of the university community explored the realities and perceptions of the country in the present day.
The First Lady of Afghanistan also met with council members and partners to discuss continued work on issues of peace andsecurityas well as support for Afghan women and their families.
