Georgetown announces speakers for the university’s 2018 Commencement ceremonies May 17-20.
Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-District of Columbia) and former MIT president Susan Hockfield (G’79) are among those scheduled to speak at the university’s 2018 Commencement May 17-20.
Georgetown holds individual graduation ceremonies for each undergraduate and professional school, as well as award celebrations on campus. The events begin with Senior Convocation and the McCourt School of Public Policy commencement ceremony on May 17 and end with Georgetown Law’s ceremony on May 20.
“Commencement is one of the most special weekends in the life of our community each year,” said Georgetown President John J. DeGioia. “We are deeply grateful to each of our speakers for their willingness to share their insights, and we look forward to welcoming them to our Hilltop as we celebrate our graduates and honor their extraordinary achievements.”
Students, family, faculty, alumni and friends can follow commencement activities online, including live webcasts. Visit 2018 Commencement for information about how to share memories, pictures and words of wisdom with the Class of 2018.
