Nearly a dozen speakers are scheduled to speak at Commencement 2019.
World-famous chef and humanitarian José Andrés and bestselling author Chimamanda Adichie are among those scheduled to speak at the university’s 2019 Commencement May 16-19.
Georgetown holds individual graduation ceremonies for each undergraduate and professional school as well as award celebrations on campus. The events begin with Senior Convocation and the McCourt School of Public Policy commencement ceremony on May 16 and end with Georgetown Law’s ceremony on May 19.
“We are honored to welcome an extraordinary group of individuals to campus to share their reflections with our graduating students this May,” said Georgetown President John J. DeGioia. “These speakers include distinguished leaders in the fields of medicine, literature, politics, law, public service and business. As our students embark on their own paths, seeking to make an impact on our world, we are deeply grateful for the inspiration and powerful example provided by these remarkable individuals.”
Students, family, faculty, alumni and friends can follow commencement activities online, including live webcasts. Visit the 2019 Commencement website for information about how to share memories, pictures and words of wisdom with the Class of 2019.
