Title: Georgetown Welcomes New Chief Information Officer

Lisa Davis, who has served the oldest federal law enforcement agency since 2008, will join the university on Feb. 6.

“Lisa has been recognized as an outstanding leader and customer service-oriented expert in the design and delivery of infrastructures and applications to solve complex business problems,” said Christopher Augostini, senior vice president and chief operating officer.

At Georgetown, Davis will plan and execute an information technology vision and strategy that supports Georgetown’s mission and play a key role in research and technology services.

Dynamic Experience

The longtime administrator is currently in charge of information technology programs at the U.S. Marshals Service in 94 districts and sub-offices nationwide and in Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan and the Virgin Islands.

She previously served the Department of Defense in a similar capacity.

“We are grateful that Lisa will bring her dynamic experience and talents to Georgetown,” Augostini said. “I am confident that she will work effectively across all departments and campuses with faculty, administrators, staff and students to create a vision for IT while she manages and leads the delivery of high-quality service.”

World-Renowned Institution

The recipient of the Superior Civilian Service Award, InformationWeek editors recently chose her as a leading innovator in their annual Government IT Innovators Contest. She was also named one of ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012.

“I decided to come to Georgetown after a career in government service to embark on a new journey and join the leadership team at a world-renowned academic institution,” she said of her new appointment.

Davis lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband Phil and has three children – Katie, 22, Christopher, 10, and Alexandra, 9.
