Timothy Rosenberger (C’16) says he’s grateful for the people he’s encountered at the university who have helped him thrive, and he’s eager share that Georgetown experience with the incoming class of first-years as the 2015 McTighe Prize winner during New Student Convocation.
August 25, 2015 – As Timothy Rosenberger (C’16) embarks on his senior year, he expresses gratitude to those on campus who helped him thrive, and is eager share his Georgetown experience with members of the incoming class of 2019.
As the 2015 McTighe Prize winner, the American studies and English major will address the new class of first-years at New Student Convocation Aug. 30.
Each year, the prize –named for late longtime faculty member Thomas McTighe – is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who has demonstrated achievement in scholarship and service to Georgetown and the surroundingcommunity.
“It means a great deal to have been selected,” Rosenberger says.
He sayssharing his advice and experience with the incoming class is a way for him topass on the advice he himself receivedthroughouthis college career.
“I really want to give back to the great people I’ve encountered at Georgetown who have made it possible for me to remain and thrive here,” he says.
Rosenberger has received numerous university honors that include the Carroll,Georgetown Environmental Initiative,Berkley Center, Doyle, Lannan and Kalorama fellowships. He also has been heavily involved in student groups such as Mask and Bauble Dramatic Society, GU Pride and the D.C. Federation of College Republicans.
His honors and activities literally and figuratively set the stage for great moments at Georgetown.
“I’ll cherish the first show I produced with Mask and Bauble, the dinner that closed the College’s Liberal Arts Seminar class in 2013, attending the [Republican National Convention] with students from Georgetown College Republicans, singing with other students in Carroll Fellows orientation and being inducted into the Philodemic Society,” he says. “And I can’t wait to be among the first to meetthe class of 2019.”
