Title: New Health and Well-Being Resources and Update on One Medical

Dear Georgetown University Faculty and Staff,

We are writing to share some significant enhancements to Georgetown’s resources supporting the health and well-being of faculty, staff, and their spouses, partners and dependents, including new mental health and primary care benefits.

Enhanced Mental Health Resources

We are excited to introduce Journey as Georgetown’s new mental health partner, starting in August. Journey will provide a greater range of in-person and virtual services through its diverse provider network across the country and around the world. Journey’s unique employee assistance program provides free mental health therapy and support for all benefits-eligible employees, as well as customized well-being resources through its digital platform. Not only will employees have access to a comprehensive range of confidential services, including in-person and virtual therapy options, counseling, coaching, and referral support, but these services will be available for spouses and dependents as well. More information and details about this expansive offering will be coming soon.

In addition, we want to share a few reminders about existing mental health resources:

  • Georgetown’s Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)provides free, confidential counseling, consultation, and educational services to faculty, staff and their immediate family members. FSAP can assist with a variety of personal and work-related concerns, including mental health issues such as workplace conflict, relationship problems, parenting stress, and substance abuse.
  • Georgetown University-sponsored health insurance plansinclude mental health resources that can be accessed in person or virtually. Additionally, if you need assistance in locating an in-network provider, Journey’s mental health concierge service can help connect you to the right resources.
  • Calm, a mobile app designed to support resilience and mental fitness, is available at no cost to faculty, staff and up to five dependents.
  • Georgetown’s Every Hoya Cares websiteincludes more information on the suite of resources available to assist your mental and emotional well-being.

The Mindset program provided by One Medical will wind down as we transition to Journey this year. As of July 31, 2023, Mindset will no longer be available for new users. If you are actively receiving mental health care from a Mindset provider prior to July 31, you will have until December 31, 2023, to complete your course of care or work with your provider on a transition plan. This extension aims to ensure that ongoing treatment is completed satisfactorily and provides flexibility during this transition period.

One Medical Membership Expansion

We are pleased to announce that One Medical memberships will soon be available at no cost not only to benefits-eligible employees, but also to their spouses and dependents. During the pandemic, Georgetown partnered with One Medical to provide free COVID-19 testing on campus for the Georgetown community. During that time, many faculty and staff discovered the additional benefits and resources associated with One Medical membership. Memberships feature an array of services including:

We are excited to continue providing One Medical memberships to faculty and staff, and to expand this opportunity to their families. One Medical will share additional registration information with faculty and staff in the coming days.

We believe that these enhancements will make a significant contribution to the health and well-being of our community. You can learn about these resources on the Faculty & Staff Benefits website, which will be updated as additional information becomes available. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and providing you with the necessary support and resources throughout this process. If you have any questions about these updates, please call (202) 687-2500 or email benefitshelp@georgetown.edu.
