Title: Resources for COVID-19 Purchasing Including Surgical-style Masks

Dear Colleagues,

In the wake of the pandemic, many items related to personal protective equipment have been in high demand across the entire university. Georgetown Procurement Services (GPS) would like to remind the community that we are a resource for you to fulfill this new demand.

If you would like to find vetted suppliers and delivery timelines, we have a dedicated website for all COVID-19 related purchasing. The website also has information on what students, faculty and staff need to protect themselves and others while on campus.

There are three mechanisms available for you to purchase COVID-19 related items:

  • COVID-19 Supply Order Form – This service enables offices to use GPS to secure items on their behalf, which is particularly beneficial for those with urgent or bulk requests. The order form is the fastest and most efficient way to receive your items.
  • GMS Punchouts – Amazon, Staples, and Grainger all have COVID-19 supplies that can be shipped directly to your office.
  • Master Agreements – If you require specialized items that are not available on the punchout, or you would like to compare pricing, many of our preferred suppliers can fulfill that need.

Last month, the University encouraged all students, faculty and staff to wear, at a minimum, a surgical-style mask over their nose and mouth. In general, a surgical-style mask is a disposable face mask with an adjustable metal strip to provide a snug fit over your nose. Free surgical-style masks are available at entrances to University buildings staffed by public health screeners, residence hall entryways, on-campus testing sites, and at the rear entrance of GUTS buses. Surgical-style masks can also be ordered by departments through the COVID-19 Supply Order Form.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the purchasing process email sourcing@georgetown.edu.

Sincerely,

Georgetown Procurement Services
