  2. Place all perishable items in sealed containers;
  3. Dispose of any trash;
  4. Turn off any alarm clocks and appliances that may make noise while you are away;
  5. Lock your door upon departure.

If you are departing from your off-campus housing for break, be sure to:

  1. Lock all of your doors and windows and close your curtains or blinds before you leave;
  2. Put trash and recycling bins in their proper storage locations and take any trash to a centralized trash location before the break;

General Reminders

Well-Being Over Break

The holidays and final season can be a challenging time for some members of our community. All Georgetown students have access to a range of mental and emotional well-being resources, including 24/7/365 telemental health services via HoyaWell. Check out the Every Hoya Cares Online Resource Center for an overview of  on-campus and virtual resources.

Public Health Reminders

The U.S. is experiencing higher levels of respiratory infections this season – including influenza (flu), RSV and COVID-19 – which have stressed health services for children. If you haven’t done so already, consider getting a flu vaccine prior to going home for Thanksgiving, and, if you are eligible, get the bivalent COVID-19 booster.

Please continue to take measures to protect yourself and the health of your loved ones, especially those who may be at higher risk for complications. You can do that by wearing a mask, washing your hands and avoiding gatherings if you have symptoms.

If you are experiencing symptoms, please get tested and report any positive COVID-19 results using the COVID-19 Test Result Submission Form. If you test positive for COVID-19 while away for the holiday, you must complete your isolation period before returning to campus.
